Projects listing. The combination of handwriting and clean, grid-like layout expresses personality while maintaing clarity and a sense of organizational rigour.

Writing listing. Made to look like typewritten pages with post-it dividers.
Clicking on the image of an individual essay displays the essay at a readable size over the webpage. The webpage dims out behind it.
Individual Talk pages feature embedded video and audio and provide mp3 download links, where available.
Main blog page. Recent posts, comments, archive, and tags are listed on the right.
The Independent Exhibitions Website presents over 20 years of Exhibitions, Talks, and Writing by Kathleen McLean. Designed in close collaboration with McLean and Information Architect Erin Wilson, the site reflects McLean's personality in the use of handwriting, quirky imagery, and bubble-diagram graphics, but also expresses the intellectual rigour with which she approaches her work. The site is easy to update with new projects, and includes a blog for ongoing discussion.
